Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia | Alpha Lambda | Illinois Wesleyan University

Chapter Officers

Dean Scopelliti

Dean Scopelliti is a Junior Music Education major at Illinois Wesleyan University. He is from Deerfield, IL, and plays the cello, piano, and bass. He works hard to make sure all chapter events run smoothly, keeps people educated about certain histories and traditions of our fraternity, and works closely with the rest of the executive board to make PMA a meaningful experience for all brothers. Aside from his commitments in PMA, Dean is also an active member of IWU's Collegiate chapter of NAfME, works with prospective students as a Music Ambassador, and teaches children different instruments through the Mini Masters program at the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington.

Zach Silver

Vice President

My name is Zach Silver, and I am a senior psychology and music major at Illinois Wesleyan University. I am from Vernon Hills, IL. Outside of PMA, I research Canine behavior in the IWU Canine Cognition Lab.

Dan Drake

Dan Drake is the Secretary for the Alpha Lambda Chapter of PMA. Dan Drake is a Sophomore Music Education major with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. He plays the tuba in IWU's Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Winds. This past summer, Dan spent a week on the Blue Lake Campground where he was a SemiFinalist in the Tuba Student division of the International Leonard Falcone Tuba and Euphonium Competition. Dan also lives in Room 0 at the PMA House. When Dan isn't playing the tuba, he is normally found hanging out with his brothers across IWU's campus.

Patrick Ward

Patrick Ward is the Treasurer of the Alpha Lambda chapter of Phi Mu Alpha. He is proud to help manage the money that advances music in America. He studies mathematics and hopes to become a famous mathematician when he grows up. Patrick also plays trombone in various ensembles at Illinois Wesleyan University and with the Wheaton Municipal band. When he is not studying or practicing, Patrick enjoys juggling, playing the ESW (electronic slide whistle) and spending time with his wife and seven children.

Beau Biedscheid

Beau Biedscheid is the Warden of the Alpha Lambda chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is originally from Washington, Illinois and is now pursuing a degree in Music Education at Illinois Wesleyan University. He hopes to teach a band or choir when he graduates, and to continue to hone his disk-golfing skills. Beau sought out the position of Warden in order to make a positive impact on PMA, especially regarding new members. As new members are reviewed for acceptance and membership he hopes to act as a guide and someone they feel comfortable with. At the same time he hopes that if the PMA house or its members were to ever find themselves in an uncomfortable or harmful position, that he would be able to act as a leader and guide in this situation.

Graham Dano

Graham Dano is the Historian for the Alpha Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. Graham Dano is a Sophomore History/Secondary Education major with a minor in Hispanic Studies. He sings Tenor 2 in IWU's University Choir and is a member of the Illinois Wesleyan Consort Singing Group. This past summer, Graham worked at Township High School District 211's Human Resources Department and spent his summer fingerprinting new hires, making phone calls, and filing paperwork. Dan also lives in Room 9 at the PMA House. When Graham isn't studying hard or writing op-eds for the school newspaper, the Argus, he is normally found spending time with the members of Alpha Lambda and volunteering for the IWU College Democrats and local political campaigns.
